Thanks to all of you who have taken a look at our fresh start for Internet Superstar. We hope you like what you see, and continue to watch because of it. If you haven’t had a chance to watch, please take a look.

Gator is dead, and all of us here at Revision3 are just heartbroken. In fact, Roger Chang went on a four-day bender because of it. But as I told him, many culturally significant Americans weren’t regarded as such prior to their passing, and I think that will be true of Gator. Plus, though Gator is irreplaceable, we can take comfort in the fact that sitting alongside me now will be my longtime collaborator Jay Speiden, who also happens to be Gator’s city cousin. Small world. Jay has been my main collaborator on pretty much everything I’ve done since day one of Unscrewed (not that that’s necessarily something you’d want on your resume), and I think you’ll really like what he brings to the show.

Right now, the plan is to do five shorter shows a week, Monday through Friday. We’ve got a lot of great interviews, segments, and important advice cooking, so expect every show to be different, and, hopefully, as we continue to figure it out, better than the one before it.

Because the show is still only partially molded clay, please keep emailing me your thoughts and suggestions, and make ample use of our message boards to express your opinions, positive or negative. We read and consider everything. In fact, part of the reason we changed the show in the first place was your feedback. We’re also excited to announce that we’re expanding to a couple of new playgrounds on the Internet:

Hey Everyone!

It’s been announced on Diggnation, but we would like to more formally announce it here on the Revision3 Blog.

With big thanks to our friends at GameVee, on Wednesday April 30th, Revision3 is putting on free live performances of both Internet Superstar and Diggnation. This will be the first Diggnation shot before an audience in its hometown of San Francisco in almost 2 years! Internet Superstar will feature two exciting and sexy guest stars that you will not want to miss (and meet, *cough*nudge nudge, wink wink*cough*).

The location is Mighty at 119 Utah Street in San Francisco. Doors open at 6pm (21+ and over) Internet Superstar starts and 7pm and Diggnation starts at 8pm. The shows will be preceded and followed with a live DJ and lots of partying.

Hope you’ll come out to catch Martin Sargent and the Gator along with Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht next Wednesday, April 30th!

Big news! A live taping of Internet Superstar will serve as the keynote presentation at this year’s Ad:Tech conference at the Moscone Center on April 17, at 4:45pm, here in San Francisco.

And best of all, you’re invited to get in for free! On the show, Gator and I will interview Internet Superstars Kevin Rose from Diggnation, Kent Nichols from Ask a Ninja, Jeff McPherson from TikiBarTV, and Gary Vaynerchuck from Wine Library TV. Popular Web TV Show Leaves the Studio for a Special Performance at ad:tech

San Francisco, CA - Revision3, the leader in exclusive Internet television, is joining forces with international Web conference ad:tech San Francisco for a live taping of Web super-show “Internet Superstar,” on Thursday, April 17 at 4:45pm PT. The hit show, which offers a daily portrait of an emerging Internet star, will take over San Francisco’s Moscone Center with a rock ’n’ roll keynote that you’ll be talking about for years.

“Internet Superstar” co-hosts Martin Sargent and “Gator” will host four of the biggest names in internet video, and engage them in a wide-ranging discussion about how internet video is writing the rules of finding, watching and advertising on video programs.

The amazing lineup of Internet guests include:
• Gary Vaynerchuk, host, Wine Library TV – often called the Robert Parker of the Internet
• Jeff MacPherson, creator and star, Tiki Bar TV – the funniest and sexiest way to discover new drinks
• Kevin Rose, founder/chief architect, Digg.com, and host, Revision3’s “Diggnation” – the show that started it all, and still going strong almost three years later.
• Kent Nichols, co-creator, AskANinja.com, Beatbox Giant Productions, LLC – Ask a Ninja is only part of Kent’s story. Ask him about “Killer Tomatoes” too.

Anyone can come watch the episode live at The Moscone Center in San Francisco (although Ad:Tech recommends that you preregister online at http://www.ad-tech.com/sf/ for a free expo pass to ensure a seat). About Martin Sargent
Internationally adored farceur Martin Sargent has been delighting audiences for decades, and is currently host of “Web Drifter” and “Internet Superstar,” both on Revision3. At ZDTV, TechTV and G4TV he hosted shows including The Screen Savers and Unscrewed with Martin Sargent. Since then he has done several pilots for such television powerhouses as Comedy Central and USA Network, and hosted shows on the Internet as well as mobile phones. Sargent got his start in media as a plucky young editor at PC/Computing magazine, and it is generally accepted in publishing circles that the periodical shuttered its operations as a direct result of Sargent’s exodus to pursue television projects.

About “Gator”
Gator is a hard-drinking drifter who was raised by an ex-con Seminole Indian named Starving Crow and now lives out of his truck in an abandoned lot in South San Francisco. He knows very little about the Internet and less about technology. His main job is to make sure Sargent doesn’t act like too much of a hotshot or get beat up by a guest. He has no knowledge of his real last name.

San Francisco, CA — Revision3 Corporation, the TV Network for the Internet generation, has announced today that they will be participating in breakthrough experiments to do science and other cool stuff.

“Here at Revision3, we have always taken a keen interest in science, and all the great stuff it’s given us over the years- everything from these cool computers we use for making our videos, to its vaunted ability to blind Thomas Dolby,” says Revision3 CTO Jeff Rizzo. “We wanted to find a way to give back to a scientific community that has given us so much occasionally-useful crap.”

When the technical department of Revision3 heard of the groundbreaking research of the Brain Information Group of the Kansai Advanced Research Center in Japan into the effects of wearing perception-altering goggles for extended periods of time, Rizzo knew that they had an opportunity to contribute to Science. “Since we have videos, people have to see them in order to view, and by altering our videos, we’ve altered people’s perception of these videos. We can clearly do good science, except for the whole part about having degrees, and laboratories, and scientific training. This science thing is neat!” Look around the Revision3 Website today, particularly the videos, for clues how you can participate.

What does the future hold for this new “Science and Stuff” initiative at the pioneering company? Rizzo says, “The Koreans have some pretty advanced glow-in-the-dark cat technology that we could conceivably extend to provide some interesting mods for Systm, for example. The world is our oyster, and we at Revision3 have never let little things like training or talent stand in the way of getting what we want.”

One of the great things I enjoy about working at Revision3 is the feedback we get from the audience. Be it our shows, the website or anything in general, our audience always has great feedback, both positive and negative. We spend a lot of time reviewing that feedback and try to utilize it when making decisions about what to work on.

Many of you have been enjoying the daily editions of Tekzilla, Internet Superstar, and the new daily videos of iFanboy and have been outspoken about the fact that the daily episodes were included in the feed for the show. Some of you love it, getting Patrick Norton and the Tekzilla fix on a daily basis is exactly what you want. While others of you hated it, that you didn’t like having to download every episode of Lil’ Internet Superstar, just to get to the big Internet Superstar show. Believe it or not, we got some very vocal feedback from both sides of the topic.

So after a lot of work and a few heated meetings at Revision3 HQ, we’ve rolled out our updated solution for everyone to be able to get the shows they want, how they want them. Now when you’re on the page for a show, like Tekzilla, click on “Subscription Options” and you’ll see we’ve created individual feeds for the following:

• Combined Feeds - get both daily episodes and weekly episodes in one feed
• Daily Feeds - if you would like to subscribe to daily episodes separately
• Weekly Feeds - If you would like just the longer/weekly show

So now, you can pick the kind of feed you’d like and have the shows delivered when and how you prefer! If you’d like to change your subscription preference, you’ll just have to unsubscribe from your current RSS feed and re-subscribe with one of the feeds available on the site.

We’ve also made it easier to distinguish the daily episodes from the weekly episodes as we’ve added the daily episodes to the previous episodes listings for each show. We’ve also enabled filtering when browsing the previous episodes, so you can find the episodes you want.

Now this change only affects our shows with daily episodes, so other shows like Diggnation and popSiren, nothing changes for them, just continue watching and enjoying as you have.
