A superhero is only as good as his villains, and it's time iFanboy takes a look at the bad guys, and what makes them so good.
Superheroes are the lifeblood of modern comic books, and without supervillains, there's nothing for all those guys in capes to do. There are some villains who electrify a book when they show up, while others only elicit laughter. Ron, Josh, and Conor explore some of the best, scariest villains out there, and what makes them work so well in the stories we love. Is Captain Cold truly evil? Is Galactus just a big, hungry guy? Does the Red Skull do anything not evil? All of this will be lovingly argued in this week's show.

"I was thinking near the end of the episode that you were not mentioning Carnage as the insane side of the Marvel Universe.
Carnage: Mind Bomb written by Warren Ellis was an amazing journey into Psychosis. That 1-shot is one of my favourite comics of all time."
I was thinking the same thing about Carnage. He's as close to Joker as a Marvel villain can get (with F-lister Madcap being a close second). That comparison would probably cause a lot of eyes to roll as there seems to be a lot of anti-Carnage sentiment out there.
I loved this episode but I think I loved the minis even more. I'm such a sucker for forgotten and weird villains, it's like they were making these minis for me. I'd love to see this subject make semi-regular appearances ala "It Came From the Storage Unit".

Magneto is the best villain ever.
But anyway, I think DC seems to have the advantage with the villains right now mainly because they're actually using their villains. Marvel has had heroes fighting amongst themselves for far too long. I think that's actually a big part of the reason that Captain America sticks out as being so good right now. It's one of the only Marvel books with really good villains being villainous.

I think Batman has a touch of the crazies himself.

RE: the villain being opposite the hero comparison of Batman and Joker I think the real opposite is Batman's rational mind vs Joker's insanity. Just a thought.

great discussion but i was somewhat disappointed that you guys focused the majority of the show on Marvel and DC villains only. i was hoping you would have more comments about various villians in other publications like Image and Oni etc. i think you guys only mentioned a few others from Image briefly. maybe do a part two?
btw, seems like the video is a bit too yellow. maybe check the white balance?
